This Wednesday really snuck up on me! Unfortunately, that’s not because this week is flying by. Just because I have so much random stuff to tend to that I haven’t really had time to slow down and think.
However, Dan just informed me it’s only 23 days until we’re done with classes, or “stop day.” TWENTY-THREE DAYS!
Before I get back to the paper that I’m (failing at) focusing on, here are some things that I thought were worth talking about this week.
National Sibling Day
Did you catch that yesterday (April 10) was National Sibling Day? I really never knew such a thing existed, but I am so glad it does… Yet another reason to celebrate just how wonderful my sister is!
It’s really funny to hear myself saying those words, because, just a few years ago, my sister and I were sworn enemies. Funny how time changes things. Now I cannot wait to have her in Lawrence with me next year. I’m even trying to convince her to live with us for a month this summer. (Do it, Marian!)
Did you realize it was National Sibling Day? Did you celebrate your siblings?
The Oz Half-Marathon
Holy goodness. There are less than two weeks until I am expected to run 13.1 miles. This should be seriously interesting. Thankfully, I’m in it with two of my friends. I think we need to make a pact to cross the finish line.
In all seriousness, I think I am decently well-trained. I have felt really strong on my 4-6 mile runs, but really have not had the time to devote to long runs in the way that I should. I’m just trying to scale back my expectations and remember that I’ll be happy with whatever time. (But fast would be good!)
What Should We Call Me
I am straight-up obsessed with this site. It is filled with GIFs that capture that way I feel during the awkward or strange moments of life. Take this one for example… It’s titled “When I found out that Kanye and Kim were dating…”

Really, check the site out. Just not when you are at work. You will laugh out loud.
The Food List Challenge
I’m a sucker for fun polls. I’m also a sucker for food. You know I was all over this foodie polls that’s been floating around Facebook.
For the record, I’ve had 34 of the 100 foods. Not too bad when you consider that many of them are meat. How many of the foods have you tried?
TITANIC
This really should be at the top of the list, because it’s one of the most important things ever: Not only is this week the hundredth anniversary of the Titanic’s sinking. Not only has the movie has been re-released in 3D. But also, my sister is staring in the musical performance of Titanic at her high school. (Although, sadly, it is not the same plot as the movie.)
Yeah, have I ever mentioned that I am a big Titanic nerd? It falls right behind presidents on the list of my historical obsessions.
What do you think is worth talking about this week?
